Lab Mapping

Labs will not automatically file for a number of reasons including misspelled names, wrong date of birth, unknown physician, or duplicate charts. The reports can be filed to the chart and the doctor's workflow by using the Lab Mapping utility software. 

Users with security permissions may open the Lab Mapping software and log in.

When the patient is not automatically found try searching in eMedRec by DOB to see if the patient name is incorrect, or by name as the DOB may be incorrect. This can take some detective work.  When the proper patient is found type either the MRNumber, or the proper name in the search fields and click search. When both the doctor and the patient have been found Click Save Mapping. 

When the doctor field is empty or does not match one doctor in the list check the patient chart and then type a few letters of the doctor's last name and/or first name in the window and click Search. Then Click Save Mapping to send the report to the chart and workflow.
