There will be times that a patient has been duplicated within the system and it will be necessary to merge the two charts together. This is accomplished through “Collapse Charts”.
Here we have two charts for Fred Flintstone. The first listed has the incorrect MRNumber. This is the chart that needs to be collapsed into the chart with the correct MRNumber.

To begin the collapsing process:
1. Select Tools from the Menu bar
2. Select Settings
3. Select Collapse Charts

You will receive a confirmation messages asking if you wish to perform this task:

"This function will collapse a source chart into a target chart. Upon a successful collapse, the source chart will no longer exist and the target chart will remain. The target chart will then comprise the source chart. Is this what you want to do?"
Remember the SOURCE chart is the chart you DO NOT want. The TARGET chart is the one you DO want.
If this is what you would like to do, click Yes.
A new window will open for you to search for each chart.

Click "Search for Source" for the chart you DO NOT want. The Patient Search window opens. Type in the criteria for the chart.

Double clicking on the desired chart will enter the chart into the Source fields:

Next search for the Target chart you DO want by clicking on "Search for Target". Enter the criteria for the Target chart in the Patient Search window and double click on the desired chart. Again this will enter the chart into the Target fields.

Once you have both charts in place, Click Collapse.
You will receive a warning telling you that once this is done you will not be able to undo.

Click yes if you are absolutely sure this is what you want to do.
Upon clicking yes you will receive a confirmation that the task is successful.

Click OK and you are done.
There is now only one Fred Flintstone chart in the system.
